Luckily Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she’s going to find her brother. Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful—and delectably naked—vamp who raises her temperature like never before. In matters carnal, Riley has met her match.

But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some illegal cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior—by tapping into the genome of nonhumans like Rhoan.

An action packed adventure story set in mid-twenty-first century Melbourne, this isn’t a book to easily put down. The plot moves along fast, but you don’t always know what is coming or where the plot will lead to, which makes it fun!

Similar to many crime books, Arthur makes it different by introducing non-humans as a known minority in society – and making the lead character a half-breed werewolf and vampire. As long as you allow yourself to believe in these creatures, the story is grounded in reality and is believable.

The most disappointing aspect of the story is that, although Australian, it is written for an American audience – the use of ‘butt’, “cell phone”, “miles” and “candy” is distracting, and the misspelling of favourite is annoying.

The racy scenes are not for the faint hearted, and there is a fair amount of violence, but is within the context of the story.

Overall, a fun way to spend a few hours!
