It takes a strong will and patience to help people with their problems, and this novel shows that no one is exempt from personal suffering. Written by Patrick McGrath, Trauma is a dark, reflective story that has its own twists and turns.
Charlie is an interesting lead character, he is lonely, awkward and confused and it is compelling seeing his emotions change so rapidly.
Trauma is a quirky love story, his passion and need is unhealthy and his rivalry with his brother is fierce. The ending wasn’t something I expected, and if you are looking for a fluffy romance novel then Trauma isn’t for you.
An impressive novel, Trauma is a dark and damaged read.
