By Whitney Gaskell
Travel writer Claire has kissed enough frogs (and snakes and toads) to know without a shadow of a doubt, that Fate, Love at First Sight and “The One” do not exist.
So when she ends up sitting next to sexy American ex-pat Jack, on a flight from New York to London and he asks her out, she figures there must be a catch. Or maybe after years of dating disasters and bozo boyfriends, Claire has finally met the man of her dreams.
But just as she’s about to start believing in destiny, Claire discovers that someone else got to Jack first, and she can’t quite believe who it is…

WHAT WE THOUGHT

True Love and Other Lies is a perfect addition to the Little Black Dress collection – it contains romance, a lovable lead character and tonnes of humour.
Claire is stuck in a job she hates and has a warped perception of her looks, when she meets a charming and oh so sexy man on a plane she can’t quite believe he’d be truly interested in her.
Of course, the road to true love is never easy and Claire has to choose between a friend and her new romance.
Her life does a complete turn around and so does her attitude towards herself.
I enjoyed reading Whitney Gaskells previous novel “Testing Kate” and True Love and Other Lies is another fun pick. Her writing style is casual and her characters are always a little bit quirky.
A fun, light read you can gobble up in a day or two.
